Spring cleaning and home improvements are in the air. We are looking to make some home improvements to freshen our home so painting is going to be our first project. We want to paint smarter. What are some cost and time saving ideas for painting?

Here are some Tips to Paint Smarter; Saving Costs & Time.

    1. Know What you Need

Try Benjamin Moore's Paint calculator to determine exactly how many quarts or gallons are required to cover your walls.

    2. Preserve Materials

If you've poured more paint then you'll need for the day, but are picking up again tomorrow, wrap your tray and roller in a plastic garbage bag to prevent them from drying out overnight.

    3. Revive Dried Brushes

Soften a hardened brush by soaking it in white vinegar for an hour, then fill a pan with vinegar, add the brush and bring to a boil. Let cool and rinse under water to clear excess paint.
